why update, cos? cos? cos, why update?
I SAW A RACCOON
Been out here for a week and a half now I suppose, how am I going to find words for all the things! But if I don't update now then it is only going to get harder, haha. I am having a wonderful time with lover-kun. Does that go without saying? Aw stuff it, I have said so anyway. Lovely time with lovely-kun~
The journey was more or less uneventful. I was pretty uhhh nauseous? on the first flight? Flying up to Gatwick that is, and I'm not really sure why. The main flight wasn't as bad (and had surprise pizza and I was so happy you don't even know it was such a relief after shepherd's pie), but all the same I am hoping the return journey will be kind to me. Winnipeg flying was pretty smooth though so I think it was just a single bad day. WHATEVER it was otherwise uneventful and then I was here and ahhhh ahhhhhh what else matters self geeeee.
How am I supposed to remember what we did when, hahaha. I do not think we went anywhere that first day, just relaxing and sleeping and whatnot, but the next day I believe we went to the mall? And the grocery store? YEAHHH. And I remember now, we actually went to a Japanese restaurant before going home on the first day, and I was a useless zombie person who could not use chopsticks but my ramen stuff was pretty delicious so everything is well. Mall times were nice times, I wore short!shorts omg they are purple. I was going to wear them today as well (lol laundry) but it is raining now. What do?!
Anyway disjointed, yes, we went to the mall and saw LotR lego and talked about OC's (gosh) and walked all about and we got tasty juice at the store and I want some right now and everything was excellent.
On Sunday we went to the international market at the harbourfront. I would not like to say it *wasn't* excellent because I enjoyed that day! But I suppose the market lacked variety and that was a bit of a shame. I did try a deep-fried something filled with caramel though, I am sure V.S. will come along and tell me what it was called because I have forgotten. (Like, a... Cucco?! or something?! I MEAN OBVIOUSLY NOT BUT)
We also wandered toward the EC mall and things which was nostalgic because I spent a lot of time there last time. Got to see the tall fountain, yeahhhh. W-was this when we. went. to Victoria's Secret........
W-WELL WE WENT TO VICTORIA'S SECRET AT SOME POINT ANYWAY I BOUGHT A THING YEAH SO
We also went to the World's Biggest Bookstore (still not sure if true but it is quite big) and I actually bought The Privilege of The Sword this time which ghfjdkhsdjfh I have not started yet because it is made of terror for the future and I am an adult and yes. But it is now mine! LET THE HEARTACHE COMMENCE. I did *not* buy any Miles books because damn if I can't seem to lay my hands on the next Miles compilation set. Why is this happen, Vorkosigan? Why you do this? I still have to finish up Ethan of Athos and Labyrinth (I think? Miles, Mystery and Mayhem anyways), but I imagine the flight home/airport wait will help with that.
On Monday we saw Eric and Lisa and it was a good time! I mean, I acted like a horrible tense nervous moron for a good portion of the day but I did eventually get over it and I think things were better from there? Just to give you spoilers for things lying ahead, I suspect I have made fonder impressions on Brooke's family than I have on Brooke's friends, which is a shame. I hope that, with time, I can stop being so hopeless. But I sincerely did enjoy myself, even if I was too quiet and too inward and generally too awkward. We mostly wandered about on that day, went in a comic store and a TIM HORTONS YEAHHHH and just little things like that. Ahhh. Got V.S. The Great Book Of Amber as well, let us hope it is not disappointing!
Tuesday, did we go to a class on Tuesday? I think so! WE WENT TO A CLASS ON TUESDAY, Bernard is wonderful let this be known. Also the people who sit in the same row as rogueface, they are wonderful too. Good peoples all over that class. It was all way outside of my understanding though, hahaha. That took up the morning, I think we spent the afternoon at home? It is hard to remember things! We have been watching Bokurano, which continues to be excellently distressing, and I have now seen some Mushi-shi! Which is beautiful and. humbling? I'm not sure how to describe the feeling really. It's very relaxing though, very pleasant to watch. Ahhh, injustice...
I sort of feel like we *must* have done something else on Tuesday, because Wednesday was a dedicated WE HAVE BEEN BUSY ALL THE DAYS LET US DO NOTHING TODAY day. I have not talked about food enough though! On that Monday Lisa wanted sushi! I do not like sushi so I have a bowl of... beef stuff? It didn't really come out as advertised on the menu (it had rice instead of noodles for example; again, V.S. will be able to call it by name), but it was absolutely delicious. Beef and rice and onions and beansprout type things and delicious and delicious all over delicious. AND IT CAME WITH SPOON so I didn't have to fool around with chopsticks which was a nice relief.
I do not remember whether we ordered food on Tuesday or Wednesday, but we had Thai at some point! I had orange chicken and I assumed it would be ~okay~ because lemon chicken from local Chinese is ~okay~ and assumptions. But oh my gosh this was so nice, it had the loveliest sauce and so much chicken and peppers and actual pieces of orange ACTUAL ORANGE IN MY ORANGE CHICKEN AHHH oh my gosh it was just the most delicious thing. I am in serious trouble choosing my favourite meal I mean the beef bowl or the orange chicken or the wedding banquet I just can't decide you guys seriously.
Oh my gosh I didn't get poutine yet............ /takes note >:(
But yeah, we ordered food one of those days so I don't actually remember what we did on the other. One day we went into a restaurant (The Pickle Jar I think?) and had foods, I just had burger and fries because SOMETIMES THAT IS WHAT YOU NEED. Maybe that was Tuesday? It sounds like it must have been Tuesday although I don't remember going anywhere other than class. Could it have been earlier than that? Sunday? We watched women's water polo there anyways >:(
On one of those days we decided to play Amnesia - The Dark Descent. By the end of the TUTORIAL SEGMENT, wherein you have encountered precisely zero danger but several spooky moments of hallucination and doubt, I was feeling nauseous vertigo and V.S. was crying out for logical explanations and we bravely quit. YEAHHHH. Kind of want to try again, kind of want to hurl it from the window tbh.
On Thursday! We! Went to more classes! :( Which was okay really, hahaha, not a great deal to say about them honestly but it was pleasant enough! And important task done well, responsible is go. I do not remember what else we did on Thursday! Brooke had more school work to do once we got back, we packed for weekend, that might have been the day we had chicken and spinach pizza? Or rather had spinach pizza and cooked some lemon honey chicken breast fillets to adorn it. That might have been Wednesday though. I AM GOING TO CHRONICLE FOOD OKAY.
Friday though, ahhh, Friday was beginning of wedding weekend, the whole reason I had to be here for these particular dates. I was nervous about this! But if I'm honest, though I absolutely 100% *was* nervous, and it definitely showed in the hours beforehand, I think something sort of broke during the afternoon with Eric and Lisa? I don't expect it to last indefinitely, but I got through some sort of nervous barrier there and I think it honestly helped me with this weekend. I still had doubts and anxieties! But I think it really was better than I expected, and that I handled it better than I'd expected to.
Upon landing in Winnipeg, flatest of cities, we met up with Brian and Shannon (not Sharon. i think. sob). Brian was the brother of the groom (well, I suppose he still is) and the best man! So he had errands! And we got to come along too! So we went to collect all the printing, and we purchased a flask, and we collected David's suit, and we had crepes from Kawaii Crepe (yep!) which totally wasn't official and was not to be spoken of in front of anyone in charge of organisation but ahhh my crepe was so delicious it had chicken and such crispy bacon and ranch dressing and. ham? maybe? I feel like there was something else? IT WAS TASTY
Brian and Shannon were so nice, I am just like *-* at the niceness. EVERYONE WAS SO NICE REALLY but back on the topic of overcoming nervousness I think it is fair to say that they helped a great deal with that, they were just funny and light-hearted and about the same age as us, haha, and it was just a good way to ease in to thing. We then went to... Laine's? House? Gosh, I think it was. YES IT WAS, yes, that was Laine's place, that is correct. Or Laine's parents house anyway, but. We joined the production line! And spent many many hours preparing wedding favours, hahaha. I hole-punched heart shapes into cards and I tied so many ribbons and I cut some ribbons and I sat ineffectually when Laine's sister (Laura?) cut her foot on glass and I WAS SO HELPFUL YOU GUYS ahh but seriously there was blood and it was like AHHH SHOCK
She dealt with it super well, hahaha, I am sure she handled it much better than I would have. And Shannon proved that she comes from a family of nurses even if that isn't *her* profession, and when Laura walked down aisle as Matron of Honour the next day you would not have known she was bleeding profusely the day before. I was surrounded by courage and heroes you guys ;a;
Eventually we went to Ian's parents house! I think! And there was food! (MORE FOOD TALK) A-and people! Yes people people is good, this is when I finally met Brooke's father and brothers and Natasha if I spelled that correctly and that was important! And I think it went okay, I do not think I made any terrible impressions (yet) and ahhh. It was a nice little evening, I was getting pleasantly people exhausted by the end but it wasn't in a way that was really detrimental? Just that it went on for just long enough, hahaha, it was a pretty full and busy day when you add it all up. Some four hours of travel, errands, wedding favours, then a few hours of party, ahhh. But I had delicious peas so it is all good. Delicious peas...
We checked in at the hotel! It was the Fairmont! It was nice! We had such a large bed you guys. It was soft and huge and just the right amount of weighted duvet but not at all too hot and oh my gosh it was so nice. I want it. I want that bed. (We also used the air con! Freely! I HAVE NOT COMPLAINED ABOUT V.S.'S ROOMMATE YET AND PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BECAUSE THAT WOULDN'T BE VERY CLASSY BUT I DO NOT LIKE HER VERY MUCH)
So the hotel was super nice. Unfortunately it didn't have a complimentary breakfast (startled! too high-class for that?!?!??!) and the restaurant (~The Velvet Glove~) was pretty darn expensive. We actually *did* eat there though, and our waiter was just the nicest guy and it was all fancy and delicious and good. Just, gosh, so expensive. ON SUNDAY WE HAD SUBWAY FOR BREAKFAST INSTEAD. YEAHHHH. Toasted pulled pork barbeque sandwich for breakfast yeahhhh.
We walked about outside some, lamented the fact we hadn't been aware the hotel would have a pool and subsequently were not in positions to take advantage of it, we tried to find mango smoothie for me and failed amusingly. I HAVE HAD A TERRIBLE TIME WITH THIS YOU GUYS. No where wants to give me one! Well actually I get one tomorrow omg spoilers but still. Anyway though, we headed back, got ready, it was WEDDING TIME.
I was sort of concerned my dress was too short? It felt too short, hahaha, and I don't usually wear dresses so that might have just been general nervousness but ahhhh it sure did feel short. But Natasha said it was cute! So it's fine! Right?! OH I DON'T KNOW, HOW ABOUT I FLASH MY PANTIES AT HER AND BROOKE'S FATHER WHEN I CLIMB INTO THE LIMO. That seems like an A+ thing to do. fgdhksjlfdk sobbing forever
I also flashed airport auntie (Caroline? Carolynn?) getting *out* of the limo despite my best efforts, sob. But I think I got the hang of it after that. Incidentally, LIMO. FFFT. But anyway wedding! It was a Catholic wedding! It was also a ridiculously funky wedding! The priest was just the most fun, a really great guy, perfect blend of humour and ceremony and with actual familiar history with the couple (specifically he taught at Ian's school if I'm remembering correctly?) so everything just had a real pleasant personal air to it, it was really nice. Actually I'm not sure I'm getting that detail correct but it was certainly SOMEthing like that.
When we left the church we got given bubbles! And when the wedding party emerged we got to blow bubbles for them! And they had a little boombox and they were all wearing shades and it was all just the most ridiculous good fun, hahaha. And then they posed in the back of a fancy sporty car and then drove off loudly and it was all ridiculous and fabulous and just great, hahaha. It really was such a good time, ahhh.
At this point we ended up with some hours to kill, being among the first guests to arrive at the reception hotel and some several hours in advance of the alloted time. This turned into hanging around the restaurant/bar and dealing with a really *crappy* waiter who just did not seem to want us there? I have no idea why, we were all dressed well and a bunch of people ordered drinks and little Mark even had a meal so w/e w/e, but it was quite a contrast to the guy from that morning, hahah. Whatever man, we played hangman with Mark it was good times.
Then it was actual reception times I think?! Brooke and I were seated away from the rest of her family, withhhh ahhh various people?! I don't think I caught anyone but Shai's name and that for inappropriate grab-it-for-an-OC reasons so that almost counts *less* (sorry Shai). But it was okay, ahhhh. The menu though...
You guys, it. ahhh. best menu. best menuuu. EVEN THE PARTS I WASN'T SURE OF WERE ACTUALLY TAILORED TO ME IN THE END. The soup was probably my least favourite dish (root vegetables are not always my first choice) but it was so delicious, and it has roasted walnuts in it and the most delicious bread and it was so good. The salad! I was like 'oh no it is a bowl of leaves I'm not sure I'm going to like this but I don't wanna be *that* person...' but oh my gosh it had almond flakes and MANDARINS in it I love mandarins so much and the leaves weren't too bitter in my opinion and they were just so perfect together and ahhhh oh my gosh guys. AND THEN ROASTED POTATOES AND CARROTS AND BROCCOLI AND STEAK AND STEAK. I got steak twice!! Well, more accurately, I just happened to get the plate with some extra steak? I'm not entirely sure why! It might have been that my main cut was right from the end, or it might have been because a bit of it was a little fatty? WHO CARES, I like the outer edge *and* I like the fatty part, so getting a whole extra cut was just this insane bonus. And it was so thickly cut! And it was fairly rare! And it was JUST SO NICE OKAY? AND THEN THE DESERT WAS MANGO ICE CREAM AND GRILLED PINEAPPLE AND BANANA PRALINE AND AHHHHHHHHgfdhsgjgjf
So I quite liked it.
Fffft when the wedding party made their entrance they were dancing to that stupid 'Call Me Maybe' song and it was just so funky and silly and joking and everything about this wedding was just so fun. It was just the funnest time. I am sure that this, too, contributed to an overall feeling of contentment and lack of nerves, haha. HARD TO BE NERVOUS WHEN THE BRIDE IS FLAPPING HER ARMS AND CAWWING FROM THE HIGH TABLE, RIGHT? or possibly that is the ONLY time to be nervous idk
Speeches were fun, everything was fun, all the fun all the time. I HAD TO STAND UP, ARRRGH. They announced out of town guests, fdjk. And Brooke and I also got special thanks due to our help the day before, hahaha, ahhhh, and the camera lady focused on us gfhdj I am immortalised in a wedding video brofisting my lover-kun gfdhsjk sob sob is this okay ahhh
We left pretty early, I suppose, in grand scheme of things. Shortly after the cake was cut, around about 10.30. Lovely Shannon offered us a chance to go rest in her hotel room for a while if we so desired, but for multitude of reasons we gratefully declined and headed back proper. Ahh Shannon was so nice. No fun plus one's forever :'( (s-she told Brooke 'you have good taste' ghfkj ahhhhh)
then we had a night in the hotel room olololoolololol I'm not telling you about that kk nxt
SUNDAY! This is when we had sexy Subway breakfast, hahaha. Plan for Sunday was a barbeque at Laine's parents house, although there were no particular plans for how people would be getting there. So once we checked out of the hotel, Brooke and I went for a little wander around before overwhelming sense of 'THINGS HAPPEN, NEED STABILITY' took over. We ducked into a Starbucks! Because that is where go when stability is needed, hahaha. But ahh, it was nice just to take an hour to sit together, have mutual quiet time, mutual electronics time (Brooke checked in our flights because she's good, I played Theatrhythm because I am not good). I also got to have mango smoothie at last! STARBUCKS SMOOTHIE IS FINE, AT LEAST IT IS SMOOTHIE. And I went and purchased a hoodie as well, because I wanted it and because it will be respectable to come home with an item of clothing and a book. SENSIBLE PURCHASES. All the rest of my money has gone into endless food I think, hahaha. foodddd. a-and victoria's secret I guess idk anyway.......
Barbeque didn't exactly happen because there was rain, but there was a delicious selection of food all spread out for eating and I had all the crisps and all the peas again because I am a turd. And the Closing Ceremony was on so I got to use limited knowledge to try and explain at least some of what was going on, and we got to see bunny and ahh. OH YEAH, and the day before we saw Squirrel versus. Bunny. Bunny did not win :(
But anyway yes it was good times everything was lovely I had a lovely time I do not think I disgraced myself HOORAY. I would like to go back and have more crisps and peas please take me to it right now ahhhh. Riight this moment, I demand it.
Was around about here that we left though, had to get our flight and such. Had some lemon sorbet at the airport THIS HAS JUST DEVOLVED INTO A FOOD CATALOGUE HAHAHA I'M SO SORRY. We had popcorners and beef jerky on the plane too okay?!?!?!?
We got back laaaate because Toronto public transit, but it was pretty okay. And I think that more or less brings us to the present. Yesterday and today both have proven to be subdued work days, working on things, working through things. There has been much relaxing, recovering, battling and sorting and overcoming and rescheduling, and very soon this will be done and my love will be one big step closer to being mine forevers. Well she already is that, poor thing, but ahh. Our house, our future, our life.
Yesterday I went on solo milk mission. It was SUCCESS. It was also a Tim Horton's mission and that was also SUCCESS. I am a real Canadian adult now o-k.
Ahhh. So I'm sure there are lots of things I've failed to mention. I mean geez I didn't even talk about Project Runway, what even is that, self? But ahh, of all the things I have mentioned enough, I do think lover-kun ranks most highly. I am really happy, guys. Even when the weather is hot, even when I am nervous, even when I get subdued and can't really place exactly why, I am so happy to be here. I am with Brooke, with roguechans, with lover-kun dirt of the earth, and I am so so glad of it. Don't ever let it be thought otherwise. Won't ever let go of what this happiness has been to me, and what it is to me right now.
That all being said, however, I should really put some clothes on.

YOUR ENTRY IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN MINE, look at all this information and detail... But I can provide some answers! For example, the caramel-filled thing we ate was a Churro! And the beef bowl you ate at Japanese place was a beef donburi, falsely advertised as beef udon! The water polo restaurant was the Pickle Barrel rather than Jar, and I think that was Sunday/international market day.
Humbling is a word I use for Mushi-shi too, ahh. It is so fantastic. Ahhhhhhhh this entry makes me all happy and pleased and so forward-facing, is wonderful, best thing. Beautiful good you... ♥

And although I am not big on food, I saw steaks and now I am hungry XD
But gosh. There is so much lovliness in this entry *___*! A-and I see just. So much fun and loves and... aah I can understand nerves and things as I am quite guilty of same such things on my own.
A-and ahh.
"then we had a night in the hotel room olololoolololol I'm not telling you about that kk nxt
SUNDAY! This is when we had sexy Subway breakfast"
I feel bad because I totally read that as "we had sex in Subway" and was just. So. Yeah. O-oops...
And as I said to her, I am going to be counting down the time when you two are together-together elsewhere with future and times and time will go fast to get there and then all will be good...
So much nice to see such happiness. Really.
Ya'll are so beyond adorable and happy-making.

Would it be ridiculous if I said that I don't generally consider myself big on food? It wasn't until V.S. started describing me as a foodie that I realised how ridiculous I can be about it, hahaha. I CAN'T HELP IT, THERE'S JUST SO MUCH DELICIOUS FOOD IN THE WORLD and it all wants to be my friend.
WE DID NOT HAVE SEX IN SUBWAY, I AM SORRY TO DISAPPOINT. But thank you for your lovely comments, ahhh, we really have been having a wonderful time and... yes, ahh, there is a lot of love and happiness here. I am really very lucky tbh but gosh don't tell any Brooke's I said that gee..... :x

XD Wow. Well talk about the grand of influences, then! Nothing wrong with that XDDD And yes, yes, they want to be good friends! All in your tummy and everything!
LOLOLOL! Well. And I-I'm sure if it did happen, it would not be shared.
...Maybe. ;P
But you're welcome! I really am glad there was so much wonderful time spent, really. And d'aw. You both are, though ;3

And...
I'm so glad you're having such a lovely time, only a little afraid that you'll never come back to us. I wouldn't really blame you if you just failed to come home.
Yes, so, Victoria's Secret is like Ann Summers, right? I won't interrogate you about that now but keep in mind that you will be asked.
All this talk of food and accidentally flashing your knickers. Remind me, when did you become me? Seriously though, I want to eat the vegetarian option at all those places.
I knew you'd charm the family! I'm so happy you weren't too nervous about it. Going to a wedding where you're a stranger to all but one of the guests is a frightening thing to do, after all. I'm sure you'll be fine with Eric and Lisa once you get to know each other better. More often than not, these things just take time...
Ah, well, keep having fun, you.
Drew and I are not bitter or jealous at all.♥no subject
I will be home soon, silly you. Life is happening in England anyways, staying here would achieve nothing but future aggravation! And uh idk maybe I want to see you I guess maybe sure let's go with that too that's fine. yeah.
Victoria's Secret kind of is like Ann Summers I suppose *ish*, YOU CAN ASK ALL YOU LIKE I WILL UNDOUBTEDLY SCOWL AND SAY NOTHING. YOU ARE PERMITTED TO TRYYY.
I think Rose wants to go and see Brave next week, either of the evening times. I hope that suits you okay! We will have to see what happens, ahhh gonna call you on Saturday to whine from the airport regardless so be prepareddddd
